I
had made many attempts to give up, even to the point of screwing
up a full pack of cigarettes and swearing never to smoke ever
again, and I was successful…… for a few weeks….
then the resolve would dissolve, and I was smoking again.
When
I finally stopped smoking, permanently, it was so easy, and these
days I feel like I have never smoked.
So,
what could have happened to provoke such a powerful change in
me?
The
answer is that I just learned to make fuller use of a powerful
force that is a part of all of us. Through my training to become
a Hypnotherapist I learned many things about the workings of
the mind and how all of us can have much more control of our
every day lives.
I
also studied smoking, the chemical content of tobacco ( that
amazed me ) and the affect it has on the human body.
At
the time in my own life when I used to smoke and indeed struggled
to stop, I was of the opinion that smoking had such a strong
hold on me that indeed I must be addicted to Tobacco. I now have
a different opinion and I realise that it is a controversial
opinion - but now I believe that smoking is not addictive.
Each
time a client comes to me for a session to stop smoking (and only
one session is needed ) I first impress upon them my opinions about
why I feel that smoking is not addictive and to date none of them
has disagreed with my opinion.
